It’s mid-May, which means summer is almost here. In the UK, the weather is warming up and the sun is starting to show itself a little more frequently.
Although it is certainly not spring weather yet here in the UK or the US, it is that time of year where we are always hoping for a bit of sunshine to peek through the dreary end of winter.
We haven’t shared a classic Danish pastry recipe in a while, so we’re super excited for today’s post! When we started our blog, we very quickly developed and posted recipes for our favorite traditional Danish pastries, like spandauer, kanelsnegle, and tebirkes.
One of the best flavor combinations of all time is tart jam and sweet almond marzipan. If you’ve ever had those sweet Anthon Berg chocolates* at Christmastime, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
These hindbærsnitter, or raspberry bars, are some of our favorite pastries of all time, mainly because they’re so simple. Made of buttery shortcrust pastry and tart raspberry jam, they’re the perfect treat!
These tarteletter are one of our favorite Danish dishes. The combination of the chicken and asparagus sauce and the flaky pastry shell is absolute perfection.
These medaljer, or pastry cream cakes, are a decadent and delicious treat perfect for a dinner party or gathering. Medaljer literally translates to “medals.”
Cremelinser, or just linser, are basically custard-filled shortcrust pies, and they. are. incredible. If you love vanilla custard, you won’t be able to get enough of these little pies!
