Who doesn’t love a simple, quick trifle for dessert on a hot summer day? This is a dessert that absolutely screams summer, and it’s super easy to put together!
Chocolate cake is undoubtedly one of the greatest inventions in the world. Chocolate anything, really. And actually, we don’t have all that many recipes that involve chocolate, so we are super excited for this one!
If you’ve been to a bakery in Denmark, you’ve most likely seen one of these featured in the display case. This pastry is called a “cremestang,” literally meaning “cream stick.”
We are so excited about today’s recipe! It’s our first attempt at posting a Norwegian recipe, so we certainly hope we do it justice. But also, this cake is just so delicious and classic!
This dessert is probably one of the most unique Scandinavian cakes we can think of. “Kransekage” translates to “wreath cake,” and is basically a stack of baked and decorated marzipan rings.
These jødekager, or Jewish cookies, are one of our absolute favorite Christmas cookies. They’re pretty simple – a sugar and butter cookie as a base, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and chopped almonds.
Vaniljekranse, which literally translates to “vanilla wreaths,” are a classic Danish butter cookie. They have a crisp, buttery texture, and lovely vanilla flavor.
Often when writing these recipes, we run into the issue of translating the Danish name of the baked good into English (see our brunsviger recipe for reference). But luckily, this one is easy!
