It has been a while since we have posted a pastry recipe on the blog. This is mostly because we have done a lot of the Scandi classics, and it takes a bit longer to come up some more innovative ideas.
You may have seen that last week, we posted a new blog post entitled “Cozy Recipes for Sunday Baking.” We were inspired by our love for chilled out and relaxed Sunday baking. It is a great way to unwind and also prepare lots of delicious baked goods for the week ahead.
About a year ago, we created a recipe for the blog called “hyggeboller” (you can find the recipe here). They were inspired by a recipe I found in an old Danish cookbook, called “Vi Bager” by Hanne Flensborg Thomsen.
Today’s recipe is exciting to share. We won’t claim to have invented these, since they are a somewhat basic concept and I’m pretty sure others have made them before us.
As we have worked on this blog, many of our recipes, while they are our own way of doing things, are not anything new. We base our blog on many baked goods and desserts that already exist.
Over the past almost 2 years, we have posted a total of 135 recipes including this one! That means that we have nearly covered most of the basics of Danish baked goods.
As summer rolls on, we are really enjoying making seasonal treats to enjoy on warm sunny days. Whether it’s a cooler summer morning, a warm and sunny summer afternoon, or a relaxing summer evening, a piece of cake or a pastry will always add even more joy to the already cheerful ambience.
It’s so hard to believe it’s already mid-June and summer is in full swing, at least where we are! When the weather is nice and sunny, like it has been recently, we love to eat dinner outside as much as we possibly can.
