Welcome to our first blog post of 2024! Another year has passed us by, and this will be Skandibaking’s fourth year, which is absolutely crazy to us. We wanted to give you a recap of the Christmas just gone, especially because we couldn’t spend it together in the same place this year.
While we originally posted this dip recipe a couple of years ago with our recipe for knækbrød, we wanted to give it its own moment and some new pictures! And we thought there was no better time than the holidays to share this with you, as you can easily whip up a batch to serve as an appetizer or snack.
Today, we want to talk about a holiday coming up at the end of May: Pinse. This is the third most important Christian holiday after the aforementioned Christmas and Easter.
It is April now, which means that Easter is right around the corner, as is spring. We are so
excited to be coming out of the darkness of winter, which this year has seemed particularly
long.
When Christmas Eve in our house finally arrives, we are so excited to eat our favorite dinner of the year. It doesn’t get better than flæskesteg, andesteg, brunede kartofler, rødkål, and boiled potatoes, all topped with an amazing gravy!
On this blog, we do many things. We share seasonal recipes, we venture into cooking in addition to baking, and we sometimes even get out of our comfort zone by creating brand new recipes!
If you ask anyone in our house, Danish Christmas dinner is the best meal of the year. We have grown up eating it for every single Christmas, yet somehow we never get tired of it.
It’s the holiday season! And with that comes a ton of holiday baking and of course, Christmas cookies. If you’re looking to host a Christmas cookie exchange, looking for unique ideas of what to bring to your friend’s or family member’s house, or just looking to *spice* things up this year with some different cookies, look no further!
